Fastpitch softball has been in Aurora since World War II and gained notoriety in 1950 when the Aurora Sealmasters finished fifth in the nation. The Sealmasters went on to win National Championships in 1959, 1961, 1965 and 1967 and World Championships in 1966 and 1968. Indeed, the Sealmasters had a national reputation as a formidable team.
In the 1970s, the Savers, sponsored by Home Savings and Loan, finished second in the ASA National tournament four consecutive years (1974-1977) and went on to win the International Softball Congress World Tournament in 1980.

The Aurora Fastpitch Softball Association (AFSA) currently is
recruiting players for its men's and women's teams. AFSA has
set a goal of re-capturing the glorious regional and national championships
that were won in the past.
Does sliding into home sound too ambitious? Join our winning team on the other side of the dugout by becoming a volunteer. Various positions, including program distribution, word processing, press box and concessions, are available.
The AFSA currently enjoys the support of the Fox Valley park District and the City of Aurora.
